Service Description
The first 12 weeks of your puppy’s life are critical to their social development! By attending Puppy Prime Time, a puppy training class in Georgetown, TX for puppies age 8-16 weeks, you can help your puppy grow into a calm, confident, cooperative canine, and help prevent behavior problems such as fear of strangers, reactivity, separation anxiety, and aggression. Puppy Prime Time classes are like no other puppy classes - we use strollers and wagons to take puppies out into the world to experience real world puppy socialization opportunities, while protecting them from disease. Class will include meeting new people and seeing dogs in public. Puppies will also be introduced safely and positively to objects, sights, sounds, smells, and veterinary/grooming care, and will begin learning basic obedience behaviors such as Sit, Come When Called, polite greeting skills, and trading for objects (a.k.a "Drop It"). Puppy parents will learn how to handle common puppy developmental behaviors such as puppy biting, potty training, chewing, and how to help their puppy learn independence (being comfortable in a crate or pen). Did you know it is not recommended to wait until your puppy has received all of their puppy booster shots to attend puppy class? According to major veterinary associations, such as the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior, "In general, puppies can start puppy socialization classes as early as 7-8 weeks of age. Puppies should receive a minimum of one set of vaccines at least 7 days prior to the first class." Financial aid is available. Please text us at 512-240-2449 if you need financial assistance. This class meets Sundays at 10:30 a.m., in public locations around Georgetown (public parks or farmers' markets).
